EU and European governments have shown effective crisis management of energy provision in past months. The UK has also reacted in similar ways which have included national policies to short term fund subsidies (via debt) for consumers and business. At the same time the EU and the UK are resolved to continue the policy of energy decarbonisation by the middle of the century.

With this background we are delighted to hear the views of a high calibre panel of UK-German energy experts & policy makers to outline some of the key challenges in securing energy supply in the short term at the same time as affirming the path to climate neutrality.

Following the successful conference on “City Meets Business” held on 3 September 2021 in the Landtag as part of NRW 75 celebrations, we are honoured that the BCCG has been welcomed back to stage this event in the “Landtagsforum”. The event at this illustrious venue will include a short reception after the main event for those attending.
