From 2 April 2025, visitors from European countries will also require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Applications can be made by nationals of these countries from 5 March 2025.
The easiest way to apply is with the “UK ETA App”, which can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple App Store. People without a smartphone can apply for their ETA at GOV.UK.
An ETA costs £10 per application, allows multiple trips and is valid for two years or until the holder’s passport expires – whichever comes first.
