The hopes of a strong economic recovery from COVID in 2022 were dashed early in the year, as the Ukrainian invasion overnight added significant turmoil to the global trading ecosystem. This impacted particularly the energy markets, which had in any case been fragile beforehand. Furthermore, supply chain shortages in many industries stubbornly refused to recover also exasperated by continuing lock downs in China. Together with the sudden surge in energy prices these combined to accelerate inflationary pressures throughout the advanced economies. Central banks have responded with the most aggressive tightening of fiscal policy in decades. A large recession seems to be looming, but how deep and long will this be and is Europe doomed to be forefront in shouldering this pain?
Against this backdrop we at the BCCG are delighted to have HSBC host as in past years a “New Year Outlook” event for our members and guests as well as those from the DBG.

19:00 h: Welcome by Nicolo Salsano, CEO HSBC Germany

19:40 h: Q&A moderated
20:00 h: Drinks and snacks with networking opportunity
