The Power of Language as a driver for change

“Human beings are innate storytellers, and language is the one of the most powerful tools we have. Through it, we express thoughts, feelings and emotions, share experiences, influence others around us and generally create the frameworks and the narratives of our lives. But what happens when language with an established meaning is flipped on its head to mean something else? In an all-pervasive media scenario, how do we recognize language hijacking – and can we create our own language “hacks“ to drive the story for positive change?“

Susan Tackenberg is a media and communications advisor with a background in publishing and film production. As a writer, translator and editor, she is endlessly fascinated by the interface between technology and humanity, and is a passionate advocate of the power of unconventional thinking in driving society’s move to a post-climate-change world. Susan Tackenberg is a member of the British Association of Journalists and has been a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany Rhine-Main region since 1996.
