BCCG Webinar: Cross-border UK tax issues for globally mobile people and families
Date: Wednesday, 9 September 2026
Time: 13:00 – 14:00 h CEST
Location: Online via MS Teams
With 7 UK prime ministers in a decade as well as an ever-changing global political and economic situation, the tax landscape in the UK has been volatile and fast -changing with successive chancellors presenting with different priorities. We currently await to see what new Prime Minister Burnham and his new chancellor will choose to prioritise. This presentation will focus on issues affecting individuals and families with cross border UK tax issues as per existing law as well as a discussion around potential new changes as the new cabinet takes shape and sets their fiscal priorities. It will include a discussion on residence which will cover domestic residence, split year treatment and treaty analysis. It will also cover non-resident landlord issues and will include an update on the new “Making Tax Digital” regime in the UK which affects landlords and self employed individuals. The discussion will also touch on cross border working from a UK perspective. In addition, the discussion will include an update on the abolishment of the “non-domicile” regime as well as the new “foreign income and gains” regime with a particular focus on the “10 year trail” for Inheritance tax.
