Our BCCG Rhine-Main region Burns Supper is back! We’re delighted to announce that we’re hosting our traditional Burns Supper once again, attended and enjoyed by many of you in the past. The birth of Robert Burns, the Scottish bard, is celebrated in over a hundred countries around the world by more than 9.5 million people, and we are very grateful for the generous support of our sponsors which allows us to bring the tradition to you.
This year, our thanks go out to DZ Bank AG, FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH, GSK Stockmann, flatexDEGIRO AG, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Grant Thornton, the Scottish Government in Germany and Scottish Development International for their generous sponsorship.
What’s in store: The Immortal Memory speech in honour of Burns will be given this year by Michael Dean who is a partner in Denton’s, one of the world’s largest law firms and also a member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany. In addition, Michael is Honorary Consul for Germany in Glasgow, and an esteemed member of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. You may also look forward to the traditional 3-course Supper including haggis (also the vegetarian option), bagpipes, singing, dancing and some of Scotland’s finest single-malt whiskies.
Dress code: “Laddies” (gentlemen) are invited to wear Smoking (dinner jacket) or a dark suit, or a kilt – the more the merrier! – and the “Lassies” (ladies) an evening gown or cocktail dress. Dancing shoes are advisable!
About registration: This is an exclusive event, with ticket numbers limited to a maximum of four per member, and sold on a first come, first served basis. If you do have to cancel your attendance, we kindly ask that you advise us as soon as possible: Free cancellations are only possible in writing up to 8 days before the event. Please note that photographs and footage might be taken at this event, which will be used for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in our social media channels.
