It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clive Kennedy OBE, a distinguished member of the British community in Germany, whose legacy of service, commitment, and dedication has left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Clive’s contributions spanned decades, enriching numerous organisations and fostering close Anglo-German relations through his tireless efforts and enduring vision.

Clive was a longstanding member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG), where his wisdom and dedication on the board as treasurer and his active role on the BCCG Regional Committee in Northern Germany provided leadership and stability. His influence extended to the BCCG Foundation, where his involvement supported the next generation of British-German cooperation and friendship. An ardent supporter of the British Day/Friends of Britain events, he ensured that the annual events not only were a tribute to British culture but also a celebration of the bonds between Germany and the United Kingdom.

As Vice President of the Anglo-German Club in Hamburg, Clive’s passion for diplomacy, culture, and connection shone. His vision and dedication inspired countless people, fostering lasting friendships and promoting mutual understanding. His broad network in Hamburg made him an outstanding representative of the British community, tirelessly working to strengthen Anglo-German relations.

Awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions, Clive Kennedy was not only an exemplary leader and advocate but also a cherished friend, mentor, and colleague. His warmth, kindness, and remarkable legacy of service will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Clive’s passing leaves a deep void within the British and Anglo-German communities, and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by family, friends, and a grateful community who will continue to celebrate his life and contributions to a brighter, more connected world.
